We received all the Ordinances before we were born. We do them here to come into remembrance of those mysteries we knew before we were born and hence awaken the Priesthood which is already within us. This is why Joseph Smith said:
"Wherever the ordinances of the Gospel are administered, there is the Priesthood." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith Section Four 1839-42, p.158)
The spirits of just men are made ministering servants to those who are sealed unto life eternal, and it is through them that the sealing power comes down. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith Section Six 1843-44, p.325)
And that same sociality which exists among us here will exist among us there, only it will be coupled with eternal glory, which glory we do not now enjoy. (D&C 130:2)
